Update on long-delayed homes plan

PROGRESS could soon be made on transforming a patch of wasteland off Burton Road in Carlton which has been empty for more than half a decade.

Gedling Borough Council bought the land, previously been occupied by shops, in 2018.

A year later, the council demolished the empty shops so it could redevelop the site into affordable housing.

However, six years later the land remains boarded off and undeveloped.

The council has now explained it is re-examining how to regenerate the long-vacant space.
