BULWELL residents have welcomed improvements to the town centre but say more must be done to protect it from vandals.

- By JOSEPH LOCKER

Councillor Ethan Radford, deputy leader of Nottingham City Council and a Bulwell ward councillor, said bus station public toilets - which will be entirely rebuilt under the scheme - will be free to use.

The council successfully bid for £19.8m from the previous government's Levelling Up Fund to regenerate the area. A consultation took place in 2022 to find out what residents wanted.

Improvements will include a revamp of Bulwell Bogs with new planting, a splash park, a refreshments kiosk, toilets and changing facilities, an upgrade to the market place with improved stalls with better access to electrical power, plus new town centre paving, seating and planting.
