BREAK OFFERS CHANCE TO LEARN FROM WEST HAM LOSS, MOVE ON SURPLUS PLAYERS AND HEAL RIFTS

- By SARAH CLAPSON

NOW the dust has settled on deadline day, Nottingham Forest have plenty of time to reflect on the summer transfer window and on their thumping at the hands of West Ham United.

It had been a good start to the season on the pitch for the Reds, prior to last weekend's outing. They went into the game against the Hammers with four points from their first two games.

However, a poor afternoon on the banks of the Trent saw them suffer their first defeat of the campaign and left head coach Nuno Espirito Santo ‘very upset: Forest have to wait almost a fortnight before they can try to bounce back from that result, given the Premier League is currently on pause.

Although they have been left stewing on a disappointing display, for several reasons this could be an important international break for the Reds. Below, we look at what needs to happen at the City Ground before the team returns to action.
