I enjoy a spot of baking and it would be good to have something homemade instead of scooped out of supermarket plastic. My culinary juices had been flowing since I’d read some of the hundreds of comments on a Facebook page dedicated to “growing up in the 60s and 70s”. Old folk and food are a marriage made in nostalgia heaven and the topic this time was a sure-fire winner – school dinners, though mainly puddings, the consensus being that the latter just about made the former palatable.
