Student says he was 'left for dead' by Uber driver after road rage attack

A NOTTINGHAM student claims he was "left for dead" by an Uber driver after he tried to defuse a road rage attack in Nottingham.

Dale Williams said he was chased and assaulted by a pair of men who were arguing with his driver after a tit-for-tat road rage dispute.

The 30-year-old said he thought he was going to die during the attack, which happened in Blyth Street, Mapperley, on Monday, December 8.

Uber said it takes safety "extremely seriously" and confirmed it had launched an investigation into its driver, while police said they were investigating the assault.

Mr Williams had just finished work in the city centre when he booked an Uber to his friend's housewarming in Mapperley at around 11.30pm.

"On the way there, we came across some guys driving really erratically and swerving," he recalled.
