Paterson: Good signs but Notts have room to improve

NOTTS COUNTY By SAM ALLEN
-
PROGRESS is slow and steady for Notts County and head coach Martin Paterson as they look to continue their strong home form against Cambridge United in League Two today (3pm).
A win this weekend would signify the end of a productive seven days for the Magpies, which has included three league matches, the previous two being long away trips to tough opposition in Barnet and Swindon Town.
Notts won it late last weekend in the capital and then played out an entertaining score draw with the Robins in midweek in their rearranged meeting.
“We are getting better,” said Paterson. “In some games, the margin for improvement is smaller than in others.
“At the start of the season, we'd lost some quality in the spine of the team that, at this level, operate at the top end, so we're improving.
