Paterson aiming high for Magpies in new campaign

NOTTS County are aiming high again as they kick off their League Two campaign away against Newport County today (3pm).

The Magpies fell short last season as they lost to AFC Wimbledon in the playoffs and head coach Stuart Maynard was subsequently sacked.
Former Burton Albion boss Martin Paterson has replaced Maynard in the hot seat at Meadow Lane and wants to steer the Magpies up into League One.
"When I joined the football club I said I am not going to hide from it. Promotion is something the supporters and owners want and we want it too," said Paterson.
"I wonder how many clubs are sitting there with the same objective this year.
"There's going to be a lot of them. It’s a tough division this year so we have to make sure we are ready and do what we say."
