Nottingham could be as hot as the Sahara Desert this week

A SUBLIME week of scorching hot temperatures and visits to the beer garden could be on the cards for Nottingham this week - with the city set to be as hot as parts of the Sahara Desert.

The Met Office has given a promising verdict for Nottinghamshire and the Midlands from Monday to Friday - but the hot weather could remain for around two weeks.
The mercury is predicted to stay above the 20C mark throughout the week, and set to reach highs of 24C on both Wednesday and Thursday.
This means that, during the day, parts of the city could be as hot as Dakhla in Western Sahara.
