Man returned from arranging mum's funeral to find his home ransacked

A NOTTINGHAM resident who was abroad arranging his mother's funeral came home to find his property “destroyed”.

Nottingham Crown Court heard the man returned home from Egypt to find his Broxtowe address had been ransacked and up to £12,000 of items taken.

The culprits kept returning over a number of days until they had stripped the house of its valuables.

They then targeted a second nearby address, again while the occupier and his family were abroad, stealing about £7,500 worth of goods, including a gold Cartier bracelet.

Prolific criminal Louis Denham was linked to the break-ins, and when police raided a house, they found the defendant, together with a balaclava, gloves and some of the missing items.
