'Low risk' of affordable housing being snapped up by students
Nottingham Post

THERE is a “low risk” that 69 new homes in Lenton could be used by students, a council official has said.
Housebuilder Keepmoat Homes wants to build the new affordable homes on playing fields that were once used by pupils from the Greenholme private school.
The site sits behind the Derby Road Health Centre at the junction of Derby Road and Johnson Road.
It has been vacant since the school closed in July 2011, and the developer says the site “has been subject to fly-tipping and vandalism".
Before it was used by the school, the grassland and disused tennis court served as a recreational area for Raleigh Cycles.
Plans were unanimously approved at a Nottingham City Council planning committee meeting on Wednesday (October 22), after concerns over students inhabiting the homes were addressed.
