Winners took home thousands of pounds each. Donations made by the People's Postcode Lottery will help train around 50 new guide dogs

- By OLIVER ASTLEY

A LUCKY few Arnold residents have had the craziest week of their lives as the People's Postcode Lottery announced its biggest win of the year so far in the NG5 7 area.

Hundreds of residents were among the lucky winners, but the largest prize went to ten homes whose residents took home a whopping £404,048 each.

"It feels like I'm in a dream, and I am going to wake up any minute," said June Foster. The 89-year-old only found out about her win in the morning, and she said the realisation had not sunk in yet.

"I haven't thought much about what I will do with the money yet, but I do need a new washing bowl and a garden rake, so I think that's what I'm going to buy," she said. "I have always wanted to get a rescue dog, but every time I had to ask myself if I could afford all the bills. So I might see if I can get myself a dog now."
