MIDFIELDER HAS SHONE FOR MAGPIES IN PUSH FOR PROMOTION
NOTTS County loan star George Abbott has been nominated for the League Two Young Player of the Season award.
Magpies head coach Stuart Maynard has talked up Abbott's potential based on his performances on loan this term. He came with a strong reputation at youth level as captain of Tottenham Hotspur's U21 team and he has made his mark at Meadow Lane.
The 19-year-old has delivered 10 goal contributions from midfield in 35 starts for the Magpies this season, with his upbringing at one of the top academies coming through in his play.
Senior figures at Notts have helped shape Abbott's first steps in the professional game at a level that can be unforgiving for young players coming fresh out of academy football.
