Let Jesus set the pace for our allotted race

I'VE had a lovely summer, with sunny days and memorable times. I'm rested, but now my thoughts are turning to everything I've got to do.

Juggling work, church and family responsibilities sometimes seems a lot. It's great that the Bible encourages us to “run the race marked out for us” but I'd really like to run it with margin and to bring a “non-anxious presence” to the places I show up. If only there was a role model who could show us how!

One of the many things I love about Jesus is that He lived the ultimate stressful life - much tougher than mine. Imagine being immersed in crowds of followers while being abused by so many opponents.
