Hope for future of 'one of the oldest buildings' in city

ONE of Nottingham's oldest buildings could finally be brought back to life following years of vandalism.

Despite its historic importance and prominence on High Pavement in the Lace Market, County House is in a dire state. Boarded-up windows, bright graffiti and overgrowth blight the beauty of the Grade Il-listed building opposite the National Justice Museum.

Neighbouring businesses have also previously told the Post that “many” homeless people and drug users enter the building, resulting in County House's door having to be bolted shut.

But there is now hope for County House to be brought back to life as new leaseholders have taken over the privately owned building.
