Fast-food restaurant is allowed to open later

A FAST-FOOD restaurant in Bobbers Mill can now open until the early hours after a manager pledged to keep on top of concerns over pavement parking and littering.

Family-owned business Five Akhis, in Alfreton Road, applied for a new premises licence to open until 5am. Manager Baleegh Khan said the newly-opened business “would struggle” without the extended opening hours, because they rely on people ordering food for delivery late at night.

But residents living nearby said there had been problems with pavement parking and littering in the vicinity of the business, and had objected to the plans.
