Euro pain as boos ring out after Forest floored at City Ground

BOOS rang out at the City Ground for the second game in succession as Nottingham Forest fans made their thoughts clear at the end of their team's 3-2 defeat to FC Midtjylland.

What should have been a memorable occasion as European football returned to the City Ground turned ugly after the final whistle. The home crowd directed their frustrations at head coach Ange Postecoglou as his search for a win extended to six games.

There had been a real buzz and sense of anticipation around the city and the stadium ahead of last night's clash. This one had been a long time in the waiting for Forest - almost 30 years, in fact.

Not since 1996 had they played European football on home turf. They had lost 5-1 to Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of the Uefa Cup back then and were desperate to ensure a better outcome this time around.

Being back on the international stage at the City Ground generated an extra frisson of excitement.
