A SECTION of Alfreton Road in Nottingham was closed for hours after a crash caused heavy congestion on several major city routes.

Nottingham's traffic control team confirmed just before 8am yesterday that there had been a collision in Alfreton Road at its junction with Gregory Boulevard.
