CAFE BAR KNOCKING THROUGH TO NEXT DOOR IN BIG EXPANSION PLAN

- By LYNETTE PINCHESS

Copper Cogs is moving up a gear

A TOWN’s popular cafe bar is expanding by taking over an empty property next door.

It's six years ago since Copper Cogs first opened its doors in Long Eaton.

Since then it has proved a popular haunt for coffee, breakfasts, sharing platters, pizzas and cocktails as well as quizzes, themed food evenings, and events in a small function room at the rear.

The owners of the business, Stephen Hill and Tim Ford, have revealed they have big plans for the business but “the heart and spirit” will remain the same.

They are taking over a former estate agents next door in Market Place which will become a new function room with double the space.

The existing function room will be transformed into a bigger kitchen which will allow the business to introduce takeaway and delivery.

Stephen said: “We've already spiced up the restaurant scene, now we're trying to spice up the function and takeaway scene.

“We've got massive following because we've got a really good gluten-free range and vegan range. If you want a gluten-free pizza for delivery or takeaway around here you can’t get one.”

It won't just be pizzas that will be available for delivery - other items on the menu will be too along with the reintroduction of takeaway cocktails that were first launched during the pandemic.

Stephen said: “We were selling hundreds of those every day.
