Church and faith are at the centre of life's race

HERE are more than 188 churches in Nottingham, and every Sunday thousands of Christians in our city meet in these ancient buildings, community centres, warehouses and school halls.

Locally and nationally, increasing numbers of people are checking out churches as places to express their faith, consider questions, hear scripture or find community. I join the throng on a Sunday morning and walk to my church on Maid Marian Way.

Now you don't need to be a regular attendee to know that, aside from the odd roof leak, church is cancelled for very little. Storms, protests, even the Covid pandemic, church continued.
