Burglars break into Indian restaurant for booze and cash

AN Indian restaurant in Nottingham has been “ransacked” with hundreds of pounds in cash and high-value bottles of alcohol taken.

Passage to India, in Woodborough Road, Mapperley, was broken into in the early hours of Monday.

Workers arrived at the restaurant to find smashed windows and an empty till, leaving them with a big repair bill.

CCTV footage is being assessed by police following the incident, which happened at around 5.25am.

“They broke one of the big glasses with a brick and broke the window into the restaurant,” said manager Mithlesh Fah.

“They stole all the money from the till and expensive bottles of brandy and whisky as well.”
