Bin collection alert as recycling plant will be out of action until the spring

A RECYCLING centre is set to be out of action until next year after a huge blaze that needed 170 firefighters to put out.

Bin collection disruption is likely to continue as waste crews are having to make much longer journeys after the fire on August 20.
The fire took hold of Worksop Transfer Station on Claylands Avenue, operated by Veolia, which has the contract to manage waste for Nottinghamshire County Council.
