Battle at Blundell Park but Alassana rewarded at finish

ALASSANA Jatta said Notts County knew what to expect from Grimsby Town as they continued their winning form at Blundell Park on Saturday.

The Magpies expected a physical battle and a tough opening to the match as they travelled to the North East coastline aiming to make it three wins on the bounce.

It was a tough first half, with the hosts seeing a lot of the ball and controlling where the game was played after a bright start from Martin Paterson's men.

Notts absorbed the pressure and when the chances fell for their two front men, first Matthew Dennis, then Jatta, they both converted to secure a 2-0 away victory.
