Balancing act can make it smiles better as Notts aim high

MARTIN Paterson stresses it's “good to have a lighter side” as he aims to get the balance right in his Notts County squad.

The head coach hopes he can be the man to steer the Magpies out of League Two this term as the team push for automatic promotion with 12 matches left to play.

Paterson appears quite serious and intense, and there is certainly an element of that in how he works, but the modern head coach knows there is a balance to strike to get the best out of players.

"Yes, we work hard and there is a seriousness to what we do but it’s good to have a lighter side because balance is so important," said Paterson.
