BRAVE VICTIM WANTS THE DEFENDANT ‘TO GET THE HELP HE NEEDS'

Attacker forced autistic teenager behind tree in city park and raped him

A RAPIST forced an autistic 17-year-old boy behind a tree at The Forest recreation ground and subjected him to a brutal sex attack.

Nottingham Crown Court heard how Mohammed Darweesh blocked the vulnerable teenager's path as he walked late at night and raped him.

The victim "thought he was going to die" at the hands of the 25-year-old and felt "disgusted" at having to reveal to both the police and his mother what happened to him.

But in a remarkable testament to his strength, he told the court he wants the defendant "to get the help he needs".

Handing Darweesh a nine-and-a-half year sentence, Judge Julie Warburton said: "Its a stranger rape of a very young and vulnerable person who (you) plucked out, took behind a tree and raped. He was minding his own business having gone for a walk as he often did and liked to do.

"He had neither the courage nor the ability to withstand your advances. You then said you had no memory of what happened due to a serious traffic accident that happened the following day.
