Apology over pensioner's long wait for repairs to wall after crash

HOUSING association bosses have apologised after a pensioner was left waiting months for repairs to her front garden.

Back in August, a car crashed into the garden wall of Gail Simmons’ bungalow in Nether Langwith - leaving a trail of debris.

Since then, Mrs Simmons, 74, has been sleeping in her living room, on the opposite side of the house due to the fear of another crash - and has also been waiting months for Together Housing to repair the wall.

She still can't access her front gate because she struggles to navigate the rubble left in her front garden when using her walker.

Temporary repairs were carried out within 24 hours of the crash but little has been done since.
