A great day out for all in memory of Grace

THE Grace O'Malley-Kumar Cup - named after the 19-year-old University of Nottingham student who was killed on June 13, 2023 - returns tomorrow for a second year.

The event at Nottingham Hockey Centre will pay tribute to the talented player through a hockey tournament, in which her friends and former teammates will take part, and a day of music, food and entertainment.

Grace's childhood friend Alex Simpson said that it would be a fun day out for residents and raise funds for the Grace O'Malley-Kumar foundation, which was set up to support others with their sporting and academic journeys and promote inclusion and community service.

“We know how much Nottingham meant to Grace, she loved the city and the people here, so we want see as much of the local community at the event as possible. This is a celebration, it's a day for everyone, no matter who you are or what age you are, and that's what Grace would have wanted.”
