Twinning group’s special Normandy visit

A COLOURFUL parade of dancing giants, a tour of centuries-old chateaus and a glimpse into France’s mining past were just some of the highlights for Ilfracombe visitors during their latest twinning trip to Normandy.

Members of the Ilfracombe/Ifs French Twinning Association spent four days immersed in French culture as they visited their counterparts in Ifs, a suburb of Caen.

The visit, which saw 18 participants hosted by local families, continued a tradition that in some cases spans more than three decades.
