TV and broadcasting stars line up for book festival

BIG names from the worlds of television, literature and broadcasting have been confirmed for this year’s Appledore Book Festival, as organisers unveiled the initial line-up for the September event.
The festival, now in its 19th year, will run from Friday, September 12 to Sunday, September 21 in the historic village of Appledore. Among the confirmed guests are Martin Clunes, best known for his role in Doc Martin, BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner, and author Michael Morpurgo.
Joining them will be actor Larry Lamb, recognised for his roles in Gavin and Stacey and EastEnders, comedian Helen Lederer, and television presenter Fern Britton. Pointless co-host and Classic FM presenter Alexander Armstrong is also on the list.
