With its $11.75 billion acquisition of Organon, Sun Pharmaceutical has embarked on one ofthe most ambitious overseas expansions by an Indian pharma firm.
Markets cheered the announcement on Monday, sending the stock soaring almost 7%.
This shows optimism around scale expansion and strategic repositioning. With Organon’s $6.2 billion revenue and $1.9 billion Ebitda in 2025, the combined entity will hita revenue of $12.4 billion, basis FY25 revenues for Sun Pharma. For a company longseenasa specialty generics exporter, this acquisition strengthens its shift to global branded and specialty therapies.
