RBI Norms to Slow NBFC Gold Loans

Implementing the guidelines proposed in the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) draft on gold loans will slow down the asset growth of non-bank financiers in the segment, according to a Crisil report released on Tuesday.

The draft, issued in April, focuses on loan to value (LTV) and renewal/top-up of bullet loans which may have a bearing on loan growth of non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) engaged in giving gold loans, the report said.
