While social media glorifies the idea of FIRE (financial independence, retire early), the reality for a vast majority is they will work for decades and retire at 55-60. So choosing whether you would retire in a bull market or a bear market is a luxury that is not available to most. Markets move in cycles-some people end up retiring in a bull market, others in a bear market. And of course, some in between.
