Hyundai's Pune plant gears up for multi-model exports

Hyundai's Talegaon plant near Pune begins production, will initially roll out the recently facelifted Venue.

Two people in the know said the 170,000-units-per-annum plant will first produce the facelift of its compact sports utility vehicle, Hyundai Venue and another model, which is likely to be a new launch.

According to the company’s presentation to investors last month in New York as part of Investor Day 2025, the Talegaon plant will focus on India-centric products, exports for emerging markets and have a multi-model assembly capability, allowing it to produce all types of vehicles, including electric and internal combustion vehicles. Current capacity will gradually be increased to 250,000 units within 3 years, as plant operations scale up with new vehicles, taking its India production capacity to nearly 1 million units annually.
