Having good fats like ghee or avocado in the morning stabilizes blood sugar
It makes complete sense knowing why you'd load up on proteins first thing in the morning, but it was quite a revelation for me to know that consuming fat as a first meal can be just as beneficial. This concept has a simple name as well: fat first. It was a filmmaker friend who alerted me to the trend by serving me a glass of cacao instead of coffee when I visited her one morning. Taste was not the only reason she had substituted a cup of joe for a cup of cacao. For one, doing so ensured a drastic reduction in my caffeine intake as cacao has 25 percent of it compared to coffee. And the rush is calmer and does not have a crash. Of course, the science of lining the stomach was convincing too.
