Sept. 11 declared holiday in Ilocos Norte for FM's birthday

Malacañang has declared Sept. 11 as a special nonworking day in Ilocos Norte to mark the 108th birth anniversary of the late former President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, in signing Proclamation No. 1010 on Sept. 3, said this is to give the people of Ilocos Norte “full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration.”
Marcos Sr., father of incumbent President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., was born on Sept. 11, 1917 in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte and served as the 10th president of the Philippines.
