PNP reports decline in online scam incidents

Despite the reported decline in cybercrime cases, the Philippine National Police (PNP) nevertheless said it will continue to be vigilant and proactive in combating online scams especially in time for the Yuletide season.
Acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr. said all policemen have been alerted and instructed to protect the public from cybercriminals, and ensure that individuals who exploit unsuspecting citizens are swiftly identified and held accountable.
