PCSO pours nearly P8 B into healthcare aid

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has poured P7.97 billion worth of medical assistance into nearly one million patients nationwide since 2022, and is ramping up its patient transport program to reach last-mile communities, officials said Friday, Sept. 5.
Speaking at the 2025 PCSO Charity Summit at the Manila Hotel, PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles said the agency was close to completing its target of 1,724 Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs) by the end of the year, with 1,297 already distributed across all regions.
“These numbers represent lives saved, families given hope, and communities better served,” Robles said.
“Every patient we help, every hospital we support, and every patient transport vehicle we turn over brings us closer to a healthier and more compassionate Philippines,” he went on.
