312 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Kuwait through a special activity dubbed "Bagong Taong Salubong sa OFWs."
-
The PCSO, in a statement issued Wednesday, Jan. 7, said the program underscored the government's continued commitment to ensuring that OFWs feel supported, valued, and cared for upon their return to the Philippines.
Leading the event, held on Jan. 6, were OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne "PY" Caunan, PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles, and PCSO Chairman Judge Felix P. Reyes (Ret.), along with members of the PCSO Board of Directors, including Jennifer E. Liongson-Guevara, Janet De Leon Mercado, and Imelda A. Papin.
PCSO GM Robles emphasized the importance of welcoming OFWs home and reaffirmed PCSO's role as a reliable partner to their families while they are overseas.
"PCSO stands as a partner to your families here in the Philippines, ready to assist and provide support while you continue to work abroad," Robles said. "We want to assure you that you are not alone. As you strive to build a better future for your loved ones, PCSO remains committed to looking after the welfare of your families back home," he added.
As part of the program, PCSO distributed Charitimba, its in-kind assistance packages, to all the 312 OFWs. The packages were provided to help address the workers' immediate needs and serve as a symbol of government support as they reunite with their families after working abroad.
