President Marcos has bared the "menu" that will serve as a guide for lawmakers in making budget adjustments, following the cancellation of flood control budget for 2026.

- BETHEENA UNITE

The supposed flood control budget will be realigned to priority sectors such as education, health, agriculture, housing, infrastructure, information and communications technology, labor, social services, and energy.

In a Palace briefing on Monday, Sept. 15, Marcos said a clear menu has been drawn up to ensure that the realigned funds will be appropriately used in next year's national budget.

"Now since we have cancelled all flood control projects for 2026, those savings, we already put a menu so that, first of all, even for the budget, it should be clear that it goes to the right place," the President said.

The President explained that the menu will guide lawmakers in making budget adjustments.

"So, we have made a menu for our legislators to follow, then say that all insertions, all changes made can only be made to the benefit of these agencies," Marcos said.
