President Marcos has declared May 6 to 8 as special nonworking days in Lapu-Lapu City and municipality of Cordova in Cebu to make way for the country's hosting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.

Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro announced that the three-day holiday was declared through Proclamation No. 1238 signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.
The declaration of holidays in Lapu-Lapu City and Cordova aims to reduce traffic in around the areas, ensuring the safety of the participants of the ASEAN Summit.
