Manila Doctors Hospital achieves milestone with first Hot Axios WON drainage

Manila Doctors Hospital (MDH), one of the top-tier hospitals in the Philippines, achieved its historic first, elevating Gastrointestinal Care with the institution's first-ever Hot Axios WON (walled-off necrosis) drainage, performed by one of the hospital's gastroenterology experts, Dr. Manley Uy.

This marks a rare and defining milestone for the Section of Gastrointestinal and Digestive Endoscopy Unit (SGDE) of MDH.

The Hot Axios system is recognized as the first-line treatment for walled-off necrosis (WON). It is a minimally invasive approach with higher technical success, lower morbidity and mortality, and significantly shorter hospital stays compared to surgical or percutaneous methods.
