He will see to it that justice is done

After explaining how the days of the Son of Man will come about, Jesus teaches his disciples constancy in prayer.

His disciples must be like the persistent widow who constantly asks the judge to deliver justice. He is perceived to be delaying or sleeping on the job.

Her persistence and high energy wear him out. Feeling the pressure, he becomes afraid and makes up his mind: "I shall deliver a just decision for her lest she finally come and strike me." The widow will soon get him and give him a black eye, to shame him. We, the disciples, must keep on praying even if all our petitions have already been granted. Jesus will be happy to find our faith alive in prayer.

There should be no letup in praying. Let us be firm in our faith. Petitions will be granted, even if it takes a lifetime.
