The Gospel passage ends with Jesus sending his disciples to proclaim the Gospel to every creature. It implies then that the good news of salvation is encompassing. It is not limited to human creatures alone but includes the nonhuman creatures as well. Pope Francis’ encyclical letter Laudato Si’ and his apostolic exhortation Laudate Deum challenge us to care for our common home amidst the global climate emergency.
