UNITED have drawn their past three games 1-1 but are unbeaten in nine Europa League matches this season - and manager Ruben Amorim hopes a win tonight will give his side 'energy'.
They have not lost at home in the competition since Sociedad won 1-0 at Old Trafford in the 2022 group stage.
Winning the Europa League would salvage what is shaping up to be United's worst domestic season since they were relegated in 1974.
They are 14th in the Premier League and out of both domestic cup competitions.
A second Europa League triumph would also secure Champions League qualification for next season.
"In that context it is also important," Amorim acknowledged.
