Town is ready for big VE Day party

FLAGS will be out in force as events take place across Macclesfield to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
There will be a 1940s tea dance in the assembly room, Macclesfield Town Hall, on Saturday, May 10, from 1.45pm to 4pm.
Guests can enjoy live music from the era, dancing, tea and cake and a prize raffle.
Admission is by ticket only, £2, and available from the town hall (cash only and limited to two per person).
An exhibition, curated by Trevor Druce, telling the stories of ordinary people during an extraordinary time is on at St Michael's Church from May 7 to May 11.
