Karen takes case for lung cancer screening to No10

A NURSE was at 10 Downing Street to meet government representatives and press home the case for increased lung cancer screening.

Karen Clayton, 56, who works at Macclesfield Hospital, was part of a group of about 30 from across the country.

She is lead lung care nurse for East Cheshire NHS Trust and until stepping down last month was chair of Lung Cancer Nursing UK.

Karen, a mumof-three who lives in Broken Cross and her colleagues met the Department of Health officials to reiterate how important early detection of the condition is.
