SHEER CAN BE GENIUS... IF IT'S DONE RIGHT

If I was to suggest you buy a sheer dress for your next event would you recoil in horror or are you a sheer convert? I won't call sheer a trend as it's not a passing phase, it's been around since the 70s and season after season we see versions of it, and even with my love of vintage clothing, the most modern iterations are my favourite.
Just to get a few things straight, sheer to me is semi-transparent fabric that provides a veil over the silhouette underneath, not wide-looped crochet or net where skin is visible. And generally I prefer sheer when it's kept pretty neutral - black, white, possibly pink and beige. Red can work.
Burgundy and brown are better, but generally I am not a fan of it in primary colours.
