Bar keeps its licence after 'attack left man for dead'

A BAR has retained its licence after a man was 'left for dead' after allegedly being attacked with a large spanner during disorder following an England Euro 2024 football match.

Police said the man was left with a broken jaw, was bleeding from his 'head, ears, nose and mouth' and lost several teeth after being brutally hit on the head up to eight times.

The attack happened shortly after midnight on Friday, June 21 following the England v Denmark game.

A summary licensing review for Sky Bar on Kay Gardens, Bury, was requested by Greater Manchester Police (GMP), who said it was at the centre of "serious crime and disorder".
