Runways at East Midlands Airport closing for key work

IMPROVEMENTS to critical parts of East Midlands Airport's infrastructure are being carried out during a series of runway closures over the winter.

The airport said significant upgrades will be made to lighting, taxiways and the central apron.
On Wednesdays throughout the winter there will be general maintenance of the runway, taxiways and aprons.
A spokesman said following consultation with airlines and others, East Midlands Airport (EMA) is taking the opportunity to conduct the work during daylight hours.
