JobCentre staff were shocked by woman's tirades in benefits row

A 25-YEAR-OLD woman frustrated with the benefits system sent offensive messages to government workers before abusing a police call handler on the phone.

Brittany Atkinson appeared before Leicester Magistrates' Court and admitted three offences.

The first incident happened on Monday, September 9 last year, when the JobCentre in Loughborough, pictured, received a message from Atkinson on its online messaging system.

It stated: "I hope you will die. I hope your kids get raped and your houses burn down. I will rape your kids myself."

She also threatened to throw a brick through the JobCentre window, saying she hoped to hit some of them. She sent a further message informing them she would "give it another hour" so that more of them would be at work when she threw the brick.
