Thompson helps Angel City end eight-game slide

Alyssa Thompson scored in the 86th minute and Angel City broke an eight-game winless streak with a 1-0 victory over the Orlando Pride on Thursday night at BMO Stadium.
A LATE goal by Alyssa Thompson, left, also clinched the first win for Angel City coach Alex Straus.
Angel City (5-7-5) had not won a match since May 9. Thompson's goal was her sixth of the season, second most onthe team.
It was Alex Straus’ first win as Angel City coach and the franchise’s first win against the Pride since 2023.
